We're not going to get too technical on you here – let's leave the science to the pointy-heads. But in a nutshell, polypropylene is an addition polymer. It's pretty unreactive stuff, chemically speaking. Which means it's got great resistance.

It's not just waterproof, though that's a big plus, because you can just hose out the back of your van, sluice any muck you've acquired out, and it'll be dry again in no time. It's stain-resistant too. Because it simply refuses to absorb dirt – additives in the mix at the point of manufacture provide greater resistance.

The real beauty of it though is that it's unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, acids and bases (strong bases are at the opposite end of the pH scale to acids, but can have a similarly devastating effect). So even if your cargo is something corrosive or caustic, a spillage doesn't mean you lose anything more than the time it takes to clean up.

The simple fact is that if you get water on ply wood lining, it'll take forever to dry out, and it'll get weaker, stain, splinter and degrade. If you get acid on it, well, you'll probably need a new van lining. And once the plywood lining reveals the metal of the van interior, it's  going to rust and corrode. Made to Last polypropylene van linings will just carry on doing their job, clean and unspoilt, and leaving your van in perfect nick.
